For more than 12 years the Ernie Ball company has been at the forefront of providing the very best live opportunities for aspiring musicians throughout the world. Through this website Ernie Ball will select the best unsigned and independent musical talent to showcase across North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia. Each year Ernie Ball Music Man adds tours and festivals to the contest providing more outlets for live expression. How it Works
Vans Warped Tour 2008:
All bands who enter by 6/01/08 will be eligible to win a slot to play live on the Ernie Ball stage at the 2008 Vans Warped Tour. Starting 02/29/08 Fans will determine which bands will be eligible to win by voting for all eligible bands. The Top 20 voted bands in each city, will be reviewed by an industry panel of judges. Four bands will be selected out of the eligible 20 to play live in their hometown on the 2008 Vans Warped Tour.
History of the Ernie Ball Music Man Battle of the Bands
The Ernie Ball Music Man Battle of the Bands began in 1996. Over the course of the last twelve years the contest has grown significantly. Beginning with a few hundred bands and handful of spots on the Warped Tour, the contest has expanded to include multiple festivals and over one hundred cities worldwide. In 2000, Ernie Ball unveiled it's Mobile Stage, a self contained 25,000 watt concert on wheels that travels throughout North America with the Vans Warped Tour providing even more opportunities for bands to perform. Since it's inception, the Ernie Ball Music Man Battle of the Bands has played host to acts like Story of the Year, Bowling for Soup, Circa Survive, Avenged Sevenfold, Cartel, Throwdown, Mute Math, The Fall of Troy, The Receiving End of Sirens and many more.
Judging Criteria
The top vote getting bands in each city will be reviewed by our judges. Bands are selected based on the following indicators:
- Musicianship
- Ability to Draw in a Live Setting
